Longtime RCYF Graduates, Families Interviewed by CBS Austin

See the latest news story released by CBS Austin as part of its monthlong spotlight of River City Youth Foundation. In this Making A Difference segment by anchor Allison Miller several longtime RCYF families are featured.


Juan Avila holds the record as the student with the longest participation at River City Youth Foundation. He started RCYF at five years old and continued until he graduated high school in 2020. Today he is a sophomore at a Texas university studying electronic media. He attended RCYF with all three of his siblings who recently graduated high school and are pursuing post-secondary educational paths.

The Renk family came to RCYF six years ago as part of the globally recognized TechComunidad program. While at RCYF, Mrs. Renk learned technology skills and began to teach her community. Her oldest son now at a magnet high school has attended many programs at RCYF including coding, graphic design, film school, and writing. His goal is to pursue a computer science career. Mrs. Renk is a proud mother with her her youngest daughter headed to middle school.
