River City Youth Foundation is the proud recipient of a Community Leadership Award presented at its annual event hosted on June 7 by UT Austin's DDCE and Office of the President. At this welcoming ceremony held at the DKR Memorial Stadium, RCYF was recognized by UT Austin President Jay Hartzell and Dr. LaToya Smith, vice president for diversity and community engagement, for its partnership with UT over many years, including with Longhorns for Equity, Access, and Diversity (LEAD).

"This award recognizes RCYF's support of university-community partnerships and for their outstanding impact on K-12 education equity," said Dr. Smith.

RCYF had a blast celebrating with UT students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters of the university. Mona Gonzalez, RCYF's Founding Executive Director, accepted the award for the organization. Read the full article by UT DDCE here.
