RCYF Hosts Awesome Back to School Drive-Thru Giveaway

River City Youth Foundation’s 10th Annual Back to School (Drive-

Thru) Giveaway event in August was filled with so much fun and

purpose! More than 150 children and parents received free

backpacks filled with school supplies.

Each family also drew raffle tickets to win free bikes, toys,

or household supplies. Hundreds of masks, food boxes, and

prepared meals were also distributed to the families who pre-

registered for the event.

A big shout out to all of RCYF’s youth leadership clubs that

volunteered to help make the event a huge success! They did

some amazing work ahead of the event and during the

giveaway.

Our Positive Social Leaders teen girls club ran the raffle

and photo booths. Our teen boys club Game Changers of Dove

Springs managed the food distribution station. Also our

elementary club Learners & Creators helped to decorate the

food boxes with positive school messages during Covid.

Special thanks to our event partner Tarrytown United

Methodist Church which works all year to make our annual

school supply giveaway a tremendous blessing to the families

of Dove Springs. This event was also made possible with

support from Google Fiber and Dell Latino Connect.

River City Youth Foundation is preparing to hold its

second Back to School Drive-Thru Giveaway in September. The
