Students Get Positive Mentoring and Messages from UT's Student Athletes
Athletes from the University of Texas at Austin visited middle and high school students at River City Youth Foundation for a day of sports competitions and college prep. The program was sponsored by UT Austin's LEAD, Longhorns for Equity, Access and Diversity initiative. About a dozen athletes from several UT sports divisions attended the camp day.
After a whole lot of running, jumping, and flexing muscles, the UT student athletes had some great conversations with the students about how to create the best school habits, juggling school and sports, and overcoming challenges that arise in life.
It was a truly inspiring day.
Activities for the day also included a tailgating style BBQ picnic and prize giveaways.
